Confectionery Live introduces Ellie Turner

Confectionery Live 2023 have the pleasure of announcing our next speaker ahead of the must-attend virtual confectionery event taking place on 20-21 June; Ellie Turner, Deputy Agriculture Lead, 60 Decibels.

Ellie Turner is 60 Decibels’ Deputy Agriculture Lead, based in North Carolina, where she leads 60 Decibels work in cocoa and coffee supply chains as well as climate resilience. Her role supports analysis and insights to support clients in the agriculture sector. Ellie has over 15 years of experience working on agriculture and economic development programs and research, primarily focused on Africa. She holds a BA in economics from Cornell University and a MSc in Agriculture, Food, and Resource Economics from Michigan State University.

In the first edition of Confectionery Live in January, Co-Founder of 60 Decibels Tom Adams spoke about whether cocoa farmers were thriving or surviving and how they were able to measure impact utilising their Farmer Thriving Index. In this session with Ellie, she speaks to Editor Caitlin Gittins in more depth about their Index, exploring the challenges and issues cocoa farmers are facing, as well as the importance of measurable data and making it understandable and accessible.
