Confectionery Live introduces Clay Gordon

Confectionery Live 2023 have the pleasure of announcing our next speaker ahead of the must-attend virtual confectionery event taking place on 20-21 June; Clay Gordon, Founder of TheChocolateLife.

Clay is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, and while not a graphic design major, he was required to take classes in the Graphic Design department and took classes from one of the world’s leading (at the time) semioticians. He helped design software for 2D paint systems, business graphics software with an emphasis on typography and colour, 3D modeling and animation systems, and software for HDTV post-production. He is deeply interested in (and performed a lot of) data analysis and visualisation.

Clay has been writing as Technical Editor of International Confectionery Magazine for over two years and has provided key insights and perspective on a range of topics including alternative ingredients, ethical sourcing of cocoa and scaling up chocolate production.

In his session, Clay will tackle the key theme of sustainability by exploring sustainable packaging and taking a wholistic view; recognising that this goes beyond just ensuring packaging is sustainable and recyclable in the cocoa, chocolate and confectionery space.

He will also be running a panel discussing the topic of sustainability through the lens of sustainable projects which have longevity and survive, talking to panellists Luca Urbano, Co-Founder of Inhabit and Matthew Chambers, Chairman of Chambers Federation.
